--The Yungang Grottoes: 16 kilometers west of Datong City.Yungang Grottoes are the most famous historic site in Datong.
--Datong Nine-Dragon Screen Wall: In the east of Datong City.It is one of the four famous nine-dragon screen walls in China.
--Hanging Temple (or the Temple in Midair): The Hanging Monastery was magically built into a near vertical rock face, the whole structure being supported by nothing more than a few wooden beams.
--Shanhua Monastery : located in central Datong within the old city walls. It was first constructed during the Tang dynasty (618-907AD) though most of the present wooden building dates back to the 12th century. The temple houses some intricately carved Jin dynasty (265-420AD) statues and has a screen wall decorated with dragons.

--Shuhe Naxi Village: Also known as Longquan Village, it is home to one of the ethnic groups, and is just like a village forgotten by time. Featuring a nice temple complex, this village is extremely peaceful.It is a well preserved important town on the ancient tea and horse route.
--The Mural in Baisha Village: Baisha village is about 16 kilometers north of Lijiang City. It is the important birthplace of "Tusi" (the Chinese word means chieftain of a clan) from Mu clan. Its characteristic artistic style and precious historic content of the mural deeply attracted visitors from home and abroad.
--Tiger Leaping Gorge: As one of the deepest and most marvelous gorges, Tiger Leaping Gorges are located in Hutiaoxia Town, 105 kilometers away from Zhongdian/Shangri-La County. Spring is the best time to visit, as melting snow flowing down from mountains makes the river turbulence at its peak.

--Houses of Bai People in Xizhou: the Houses of Bai people in Xizhou is located in the Xizhou Town which is 16 kilometers away from the Ancient City of Dali.Xizhou is not only a famous historic city, but also a typical commercial town of Bai people. It is one of the cradles of National capitalism of Bai people, and a famous hometown to overseas Chinese in Yunnan. So, you have to understand Xizhou first if you really want to understand Dali and Bai people.
Where Bai minority people live. You will see their typical traditions, dresses there.The most famous thing about Xizhou are well preserved ancient buildings of Bai Minority.On the outside walls of each house, there are numerous exquisite paintings showing the art atmosphere.
--Cruise on Lake Erhai : The area around Lake Erhai is blessed with a mild climate and fertile land with forests of valuable stocks of timber, medicinal herbs and rare animals. A cruise around the lake and its islands is an excellent way to explore the area and visit a working fishing village.
--Three Pagodas: The Three Pagodas between the Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake are considered the landmark of Dali. Towering aloft in a triangle shape, the Three Pagodas were built more than 1,000 years ago. Stored in the pagodas are valued Buddhist scripts and scriptures.

--The Stone Forest: A fantastic natural phenomena located 90 km southeast of Kunming. The various shapes of karst landscape was formed due to the millions years movement of Earth. The Stone Forest area is the home of the Sani people, their folk customs has become one spectacular scene, the colorful embroidery and minority dances combine with the natural sceneries, which will surely leave you a deep impression.
--Dadieshui Waterfall: Dadieshui Waterfall (Dadieshui Pubu),is one of the largest and most famous waterfalls in China. The water rushes down over a 30 meter wide section of cliff at 150 cubic meters per second down 88 meters to the rocks. When the water hits the rocks below, the water splashes into the sinking mist.

--Huatingsi Monastery: One of the oldest and largest Buddhist complexes in Kunming. There are 572 painted sculptures and more than 260 stone animals and birds, which are of marvelous shape and some romantic feel. Still remained in the temple are 17 stone stele of Ming and Qing Dynasty, along with 7 tower tombs from Qing Dynasty.
--Taihua Monastery: It is located on the side of the highest peak of the Xishan Mountain.As a monastery set up by the roving Chan (Zen) sect monk Xuan Jian in 1306. Well known for its carelessly arranged botanical gardens and flourishing plants, there's a massive gingko tree near the entrance which is more than 580 years old, together with other valuable flowers and trees, consisting a colorful garden.
--Cable Car from Folklore Village to the Dragon Gate: Take the cable car and enjoy the folk dancing and elephant performance in the Folklord Village.Then reach the Dragon Gate to take a bird's view of the West Hill.
--Yunnan Minority Village : Located near the Dianchi Lake and covers an area of about 133.3 hectares, it is the window that displaying minority customs and cultures to the world. The admirable climate, beautiful natural sceneries combine with strong minority feelings, an ideal place to visit.
--The Dragon Gate on Xishan/West Hill: Located 1.5km west of the Kunming, the Dragon Gate in Western Hill is close to the Dianchi Lake. This group of grottoes, sculptures, corridors and pavilions were hacked from the cliff between 1781 and 1835 by a Taoist monk and his co-workers.

--Kaili Ethnic Minorities Museum: In the museum there has a quite detailed introduction to human culture, geography, and the national minorities'customs of the southeastern areas of Guizhou Province. Some writing, pictures, and material objects are displayed here. Minority Customs hall and Dragon Boat hall are the main exhibits which are worth watching.
--Jidao Miao Village: Located in China's poor southwestern province of Guizhou, Jidao Miao village is set in idyllic surroundings and populated by ethnic Miao people. Village life is simple and children play as their parents tend fields of lush, organically grown vegetables surrounded by towering pine forests. Elderly women stoke fires in traditional wooden houses, some hundreds of years old. It is so poor, mountainous and remote that the tranquility here is not yet broken by a flood of rich Chinese tourists and foreign visitors.

--Basha Miao Village: Only 5 kilometers away from Congjiang and with a highway running right acrossBasha is a very special and old Miao Ethnic village. The villagers still practice their unique traditions dating to Qing Dynasty ( about 2200 years ago. Basha village is very little touched by violent modernization. Residents there still live in their wooden houses, practicing centuries-long custom and have their own unique belief.
--Yingtan Dong village: It is located on the top of the mountain with a brook winding through.Green trees surround the village, lots of precious yew trees can be found here. They are also known for their architecture, particularly their drum towers, and wind and rain bridges, which just like pavilions for sheltering people during bad weather.
--Dong People's Village in Zhaoxing: It is the largest and oldest Dong village in China and the world. There are five Drum Towers, Wind & Rain Bridges and traditional stages in the village.
--Tang'an Dong Village - the most primitive Dong village: Hailed by some as the "most primitive Dong village in China", Tang'an Dong village offers a harmonious scene balancing nature and humanity. The village was built on a steep mountain slope overlooking terraced paddy fields. The village contains ancient wooden buildings, a traditional drum tower, theater stage, and gravel yard adjacent to some residential houses, and a well provided water supply.

--Chengyang Ma'an Drum-Tower : Maan Drum-Tower is a unique complex acting as bridge, pavilion as well as corridor simultaneously.
--Chengyang Wind & Rain Bridge in Sanjiang: It was built in 1916, and it is the best one among the wind and rain bridges in Dong stockade villages. At present, it is the largest wind and rain bridge.

--Minority village and Longsheng Terraced Field : The Longji Terraces are built into the steep mountain range named "The Dragon's Backbone" about 2 hours from Guilin. The terraces look like ribbons as they wind from the foot to the top of the mountain. This ingenious construction makes best use of the scarce arable land and water resources in the mountainous area. There are about 66 square kilometers of terraced fields in the district. The Terraces were first built in the Yuan dynasty and completed in the Qing dynasty by the Zhuang people. Zhuang and Yao minority villages dot the area and feature traditional unique architecture where no nails are used in construction. The different minority customs and dressing styles are especially interesting.

--Li River Cruise: A cruise along the Li River between Guilin and Yangshuo is an unforgettable experience. As you take in the stunning scenery there's something interesting to see at almost every bend in the river. Between spectacular limestone peaks you'll see graceful bamboo groves, farmers tending rice paddies, and lumbering water buffaloes pulling carts or cooling off in the river. You may see fishermen gliding along on their narrow bamboo rafts, and if you're very lucky you might see one of the famous fishing cormorants. Boats depart from various wharves, according to the height of the river at different times of the year.
